Oreo Overload Cupcakes

OREOS

I can’t think of a better word, there are SOOOOOO many things you can do with them!

You can fry them, bake them in cupcakes, put them in frosting, make a dip out of the filling, create a pie crust with the shells, make cake balls with the shells and buttercream and a ton more!

Oreo Overload Cupcakes

How to do it:

  • Prepare a Vanilla (or chocolate) cupcake batter
  • Scoop a small amount (around 2-3 tsp) of batter in the bottom of each muffin liner in pan
  • Then gently push an Oreo cookie on top of each glob of batter

  • Then plop 1 cookie scoop full (or just fill the cupcake liner!) on top of each Oreo cookie and use a spoon to make it go around the edges
  • Bake for the same time and at the same temperature
  • Let cool and take out of pan
  • Let cool COMPLETELY, and top with a little rosette of the pre-prepared Oreo Buttercream Frosting!

To be honest, I did cheat and use a vanilla cupcake mix. BUT…….. I had to make these kind of quickly for church, lucky me they were a big hit! You can still use any recipe you want for the cupcakes!!

I did have a little trouble with the frosting though, it was WAY too thick and wouldn’t pipe, so I added some almond milk until it worked, about a couple tablespoons.

If you only wanted to do a little rosette on top of the cupcakes like I did (which is the perfect amount of frosting) you could top each with a mini Oreo cookie! And if you use more frosting you can use a regular Oreo!
